I realize I don’t have all the facts, but I also can’t help thinking how litigious our society is, and how all these lawsuits are missing the big picture – if we want to prevent or cure ourselves from illness and prolong our quality of life, we need to invest in more medical technology and that includes robots.  Draining and suing Intuitive Surgical in frivolous lawsuits is going to hinder its growth and development as well as make it difficult for new companies and medical robotic devices to come to market.
